A wonderful antique rug, handwoven by nomadic Kurds circa 1900. The rug features an all over geometrical design on an unusual camel field and deep brown border. Beautiful secondary colours of greens, pinks and blues and a lovely example of tribal weaving.
Size: 2.12m x 1.23m (7ft x 4ft)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear. One 30cm section of the border has used a different batch of wool which has slightly corroded (see photos). Small, old repair to one small section of fringe (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
