A beautiful antique runner, woven in one of the many villages surrounding Hamadan circa 1920. The runner features a geometrical design on a rich terracotta field surrounded by a deep indigo border. Lovely wool quality and some great secondary colours including greens and golds.
Size: 4.04m x 0.84m (13ft 3in x 2ft 9in)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, very slightly heavier in one small spot, barely visible (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
