A stunning example of a vintage Art Deco carpet, hand woven in Tianjin, north-east China, circa 1920s with a small medallion surrounded by Chinese motifs on a soft green field and navy blue border with lovely secondary colours of reds and golds. This carpet is in good condition with light, age related wear. Small corner of fringe is missing, otherwise the fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned. A couple of surface marks which are barely visible.
