A lovely vintage Afghan rug, hand woven by the Belouchi tribe during the Soviet occupation of the 1980s complete with tanks, helicopters and rocket launchers! The border has been woven with a mixed technique of kilim and pile. Relatively commonplace at the time, these rugs have become scarcer and highly collectible.
Size: 2.02m x 1.01m (6ft 8in x 3ft 4in)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear. Fringes and selvedges are original and secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
