A fabulous antique Tibetan rug, hand woven circa 1900. The design features eight large lotus flowers connected by scrolling vines and foliage. A wonderful red field and some stunning secondary colours of pink, gold, green and blue. The softness of the wool and the saturation of the dyes are amongst the best I have seen in a Tibetan rug. These rugs are becoming harder and harder to find.

This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, slightly heavier on the ends (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
